FAQ’s

Our products:

Q:  Are all of your meat products from The New Forest?

A:  Our Beef, Lamb, Pork, Game and whole Chickens are from family run farms or licenced keepers within the New Forest.  The animals are reared naturally and free to roam in stress free environments.

Pannage Pigs are unique to the New Forest and are free to roam wild, eating fallen acorns from the forest floor which makes for a flavourful meat. There are only around 600 pigs released for Pannage each Autumn and as we do not freeze our meat, supply is limited from October – February or while stocks last.

Our Game lives wild within the New Forest National Park and comes from licensed keepers.  As well as being more flavourful than farm-reared meats, wild game produce is usually leaner and more healthy, due to the active lifestyle and natural diet of the animals.

Q:  Is your meat delivered fresh or frozen?

A:  Our meat is freshly butchered to order by Nick or Josh and will not have ever been frozen.  It is delivered inside temperature controlled packaging so will arrive fresh and in perfect condition ready to be refrigerated or frozen by you at home.

Q:  Many of the weights on your meat products are for 1 person only.  How do I order a product such as rack of lamb for 6 people?

A:  We want our products to be accessible to all and the fairest way to do this is to make products available in individual portions.  If you would like to order a rack of lamb for 6 people then please order 6 portions of the rack of lamb.  The butcher will send you a larger rack for the total weight of 6 portions.

Q:  Am I able to request a specific product size or type of cut?

A:  Yes, please either complete the ‘ask the butcher’ box at checkout or contact us on: 01425 402205 or hello@newforeststores.com.

Q:  Are all of your deli products from The New Forest?

A:  We mainly source products from The New Forest and surrounding areas.  However, if we find outstanding products outside of our region we may also share these on our website.
